This study aim to empowered the family in village level by developing organic vegetables home farming among mother at household level to improve family nutrition. The entire activity was called as ASOI. An action research had been conducted in Sekarbagus village, Sugio subdistrict of Lamongan District, East Java. The target of activity was a group of women who were active members of Nasyiatul Aisyiah Organization at village level. ASOI is an intervention action was contain of succecive activities such as trainning and education about the development of organic vegetable
home farming, including how to plant, maintain, harvest, and also about handelling and cooking vagetables. The indicators of achievement were knowledge and skill about organic vegetables farming or gardening at household level, establishing organic vegetables garden at cadre’s yard as well as vegetables gathering activity among member of group, called “arisan”. Data and information were performed descriptively, by comparing the score of kwoledge and skill of each member before and after intervention. There was an increasing of score before and after intervention, with the mean score of 40.08 and 69.13, respectively. The organic vegetables gardens had been made at cadre’s house, with various kind of vegetables such as tomato, broccoli, swamp leavy vegetable (kangkung), cabbagge. The concept of ASOI had been scaled up at subdistrict level as well. It implied that ASOI activities had empowered a group of mothers in Nasyiatul Aisyiah Oranization to develop an organic vegetables home farming
and made a social gathering activity, named “arisan” using organic vegetables.
