In order to achieve common goals according to the vision and mission of the Faculty of Public Health, we invite researchers, lecturers, professions, industry, government, national and international organizations to collaborate in conducting joint research for the advancement of more massive world research. Center for Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Research Group is an interdisciplinary consortium of researchers who study how to prevention of injuries and illnesses related to work, as well as the protection and improvement of the health of workers. It aims to improve the working conditions and the surrounding environment. Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Management is a network of interrelated elements. These elements include responsibilities, authorities, relationships, jobs, activities, processes, practices, procedures, and resources. Our research group is aligned with Universitas Airlangga strive towards becoming a research university that focuses on Occupational Health and Safety Management (OHSMS). All of these projects help organizations to continually improve their safety performance and compliance to health and safety standards. OHSMS establishes safer working environments that protect people at work by eliminating, or better managing, health, and safety hazards. The main objective of Occupational Health and Safety Management (OHSMS) Research Groups is to improve their safety performance and compliance to health and safety legislation and standards. In doing so, they establish safer working environments that protect people at work by eliminating, or better managing, health, and safety hazards. This main objective then would be divided into specific objectives that include:

  1. Ensure new and evolving risks are identified and controlled through established workplace hazard and risk assessments, and audit procedures
  2. Reduce occurrence and severity of accidents and their associated costs including insurance premiums, lost productivity, and regulatory fines
  3. Implement relevant, applicable, and simplified programs that translate general health and safety principles into specific programs and procedures
  4. Formalize employee participation incorporate health and safety policy and system implementation
  5. Improve the organizational structure of industrial hygiene personnel for maximum efficiency and cost-effectiveness
  6. Promote a healthy workforce and improve employee moral
  7. Create public awareness of an organization’s commitment to the well-being of their employees, the community, and the environment
  8. Establish policies that direct corporate leadership through the continual improvement cycle of the OHS program
